Butner bakery robbed by men with gun, knife

BUTNER — A gunman and a knifeman robbed a store Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. 

The two men entered Los Portales Bakery, 407 Central Ave., just after 4 p.m., according to Butner Public Safety. 

One carried a handgun and the other a knife, a press release said. They robbed the employees and left with cash. 

Both robbers are said to be Hispanic men. One was wearing a green mask with a yellow shirt, police said. The other had on a white long-sleeve shirt and shorts. 

One of the men had paint in his hair and police believe he may be part of a construction crew. 

The robbers left in a pickup that looked to be of either GMC or Chevrolet make, police said. They fled toward Interstate 85, possibly to the Oxford or Henderson areas, the release said.
