BUTNER — A pedestrian was killed Tuesday in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said.
Butner Public Safety responded to the 1600 of West B Street around 6:30 p.m., the department said on Facebook.
A 43-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle, a press release from the department said. Authorities haven't named the woman.
One witness saw a gray SUV on West B Street after hearing the crash, the release said. Another witness saw a charcoal gray Dodge SUV with front-end damage turn onto Fourth Street and proceed down West C Street.
Multiple witnesses have described the suspect vehicle as a silver or gray Dodge Magnum with damage to the passenger-side hood and front, police said in an updated press release Wednesday.
Officials are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
