RALEIGH — Gov. Roy Cooper on Monday announced the appointment of Carolyn J. Thompson to the N.C. Employment Security Board of Review.

Thompson, a former superior court judge in the 9th Judicial District, will serve as an employer representative on the board.

Thompson, of Oxford, runs a private attorney practice. She is a member of the N.C. Association of Women Attorneys, Families Living Violence Free, the Franklin County Domestic Violence Task Force and as a volunteer judge for the Granville County Teen Court Program.

Cooper appointed Thompson in 2018 to fill the remainder of retiring judge Superior Court Judge Robert H. Hobgood’s term. She had been an elected district court judge since 2009.
