To the Editor,
The town of Butner may not, but some of its residents sure have.
Residents on 27th Street started complaining about potholes on their street back in June. They were told it would be addressed in August. August came, but then it was put off until September, which was then put off until October, and you guessed it, now being put off until the spring!
This is another example of what I refer to when I say to our elected and appointed officials: “focus on making what we have the best” and making this a “great little town” that can brag about how “quality” is evident everywhere. Best roads, best schools, best water, etc.
When you don’t take good care of our own backyard, it sends a message of low regard and lack of respect to the residents and the world. In today’s technical, social media world, images, comments, and opinions travel worldwide in a blink, therefore, we should always be putting our best foot forward.
It’s not where you live; it’s how you live. It’s easier to be a big fish in a small pond. Don’t make your residents sing “the blues.”
