CREEDMOOR — Roger Lee Gibson, 54, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at his home.
A native of Raleigh County, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond Gibson and Carol Hood Gibson. He was of the Baptist faith and was a traffic specialist in road construction for many years.
Graveside services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem by the Rev. David Richardson. Visitation followed the service at the cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Jenny Gibson of the home; his children, David Richardson (Becky) of Stem, Chris Griffin (Jordan) of Creedmoor, Leandra Avancini (Chris) of Beckley, West Virginia, and Nick Avancini of Stem; many loving grandchildren; one sister, Renee Green (Dave) of Stem; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister Penny Birchfield and brother, Eddie Gibson.
